Scar Camouflage: Precision Skin Blending

Restore your confidence with paramedical micro-pigmentation. Using world-leading Nue Conceal technology, we seamlessly blend scars and stretch marks with your natural skin tone.

What is Skin Camouflage?

Scar camouflage, also referred to as skin camouflage, is a medical cosmetic procedure designed to alleviate the visual prominence of scars. Whether resulting from accidents, surgeries, or skin conditions, scars can significantly impact self-esteem and confidence.

At Head Ink SMP, we employ cutting-edge technology developed by Nue Conceal. We utilise a medical-grade skin tone reader to accurately match pigments to your natural skin tone. This paramedical treatment aims to seamlessly blend the scarred area with your skin's natural colouration, providing a more uniform appearance.

Why Scars Must Be Healed?

This treatment necessitates fully healed scars to prevent potential skin damage. In cases where scars are darker than the surrounding skin, we conduct LED light therapy sessions beforehand to lighten the scar gradually.

Specialist Stretch Mark Treatments

Our Stretch Mark Camouflage Treatment offers a permanent solution for those seeking to diminish the appearance of stretch marks. This non-invasive tattoo method involves micro-pigmentation, where custom skin tone pigments are skilfully tattooed into the stretch marks to blend seamlessly with the surrounding skin.

The Inkless Option

While our Inkless method can address texture concerns, stretch marks may still exhibit contrasting colouration. In these cases, skin-colour ink tattooing is the ideal choice for achieving your desired results.

Expert Tip: To achieve the most natural-looking results, we recommend scheduling sessions after your tan has faded. This ensures the most accurate colour blending with your true base skin tone.

Performing these procedures effectively requires an in-depth understanding of permanent cosmetics, along with proficiency in colour matching and skin tones. We provide:

Technological Accuracy: We don't guess—we use the Nue Skin Tone reader for scientific accuracy.

Safety & Integrity: We strictly adhere to healing timelines to ensure your skin health is never compromised.

Realistic Expectations: Optimal results typically require 2–5 sessions.

Conditions or Type of Scars We Treat

1. Surgical & Trauma Scars : From facelifts, tummy tucks (abdominoplasty), and breast augmentation to accident-related trauma. We reduce the visibility of healed surgical incisions by blending them with your natural complexion.

2. Stretch Marks : Whether from pregnancy, growth spurts, or weight changes. We camouflage silver or white stretch marks to match your base skin tone, smoothing out the visual texture.

3. Vitiligo Camouflage : For stable vitiligo patches, we meticulously deposit pigment to restore colour, reducing the high contrast between the depigmented area and your natural skin.

4. Burn Survivor Support : We work with skin grafts and burn scars to introduce tonal variation. This adds visual depth back to the skin for a more natural appearance, moving away from the "shiny" look of scar tissue.

5. Self-Harm Scarring : A judgement-free space to help you move forward. We camouflage linear scars on arms or legs, helping you reclaim your skin and your privacy.

6. Acne Scarring & Hypopigmentation : We target "white" (hypopigmented) acne scars or spots left from laser treatments, filling them with pigment to even out your overall complexion.

7. Gender Affirmation & Transition Scars : Proudly supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. We specialise in Top Surgery (mastectomy) scar camouflage and aesthetic shading to support your transition journey.

8. Hypertrophic Scars : Note: We treat flat and healed scars. For raised (hypertrophic) scars, we assess on a case-by-case basis. If your scar is still active or pink, we may recommend waiting before treatment.

The Process: Your Journey to Restoration

  • Blending: The goal is to seamlessly blend the scarred area with your natural skin coloration.

  • Skin Integrity: We prioritise maintaining the smoothness of the skin throughout the pigmentation process.

4. Post-Procedure and Healing

  • Colour Progression: During the initial healing, the colour will be darker than your skin tone and may appear red for several months.

  • Extended Healing: The full healing process may take up to three months, depending on your health and adherence to aftercare.

  • Session Requirement: Optimal results typically require between 2 and 5 sessions to achieve the desired results.

5. Long-Term Maintenance

  • Durability: While this is a permanent cosmetic procedure, it may require a touch-up over the years as the skin ages.

  • Consistency: We recommend scheduling sessions after a tan has faded to ensure the colour blending remains accurate to your natural base tone.
